Flame Arresters

What is it used for?
It ensures line and personnel safety by stopping backfire and flashback during gas flow disruptions.


Types:

  • Torch type: Mounted on hand tools (for MIG, TIG, or oxy-fuel applications)

  • Line/workstation type: Installed at outlets or near manifolds

  • Dual-safety models: Equipped with backflow prevention and heat/spark sensors


Selection Criteria (Quick Guide):

  • Gas type: O₂, C₂H₂, Ar/CO₂ mixtures, etc.

  • Operating flow rate and pressure

  • Installation location: Torch or line, with matching thread/connection standards


Field Note:
When a flashback arrestor is installed both at the line outlet and the torch, the overall risk level is significantly reduced.

Regulators

What is it used for?
It keeps the gas pressure stable at a level suitable for the application.

Selection Criteria

  • Inlet/outlet pressure and target flow rate

  • Single or dual stage regulation (dual-stage recommended for high flow applications)


Quick FAQ:
If spatter increases with CO₂ in MAG welding, check regulator flow rate and nozzle distance — incorrect flow can cause porosity defects.

Torch Systems (Cutting & Welding Tools)

Scope:
Oxy-fuel cutting and heating torches, cutting bodies, mixing nozzles; MIG/MAG and TIG torch systems.


Selection Tips

  • Thin Sheet MIG: Use proper nozzle–wire tip alignment and correct nozzle distance for stable short-circuit transfer.

  • TIG Aluminum: Operate in AC TIG mode with sufficient argon or Ar-He flow and the correct nozzle diameter.

  • Oxy-Fuel: Always use together with flashback arrestors and check valves for maximum safety.

Hoses & Connections

Scope:
Oxygen and fuel gas hoses, quick couplings, stainless-steel fittings, cylinder valves, check valves, and shut-off systems.


Selection Criteria

  • Gas–material compatibility: Use proper elastomers/metals for oxidizing gases.

  • Operating pressure, temperature, and wear resistance

  • Connection standard: Thread size and quick coupling type
